Pittsburgh, PA - Ultratech Stepper, a San Jose, CA-based manufacturer of photolithography equipment, contracted with Edgeworth, Inc., a Pittsburgh-based human-capital consulting firm, to help the company identify and sell its value. Senior management from Ultratech and Edgeworth began by focusing on Ultratech's unique Value Proposition to its customer base, i.e., how working with Ultratech will help its customers improve their business.

The next step involved engaging the Ultratech sales force at their annual sales meeting in Monterey, CA to better understand the business of the customer and how the Ultratech Value Proposition can positively affect the customer's bottom line. Edgeworth delivered a training program which focused on identifying customer needs and quantifying the real business value of those needs. This fully customized program challenged the employees to learn these concepts through the use of one of Edgeworth's proprietary games and engaged them in a strategic, hands-on learning experience. Designed to be both fun and informative, the program received high praise from the participants and has left the door open for follow-up work to be facilitated by Edgeworth throughout the coming year.
